TON

TON is a Czech furniture manufacturer whose roots date back to 1861, when carpenter Michael Thonet founded a company specializing in bentwood furniture in the town of Bystrice pod Hostýnem. Today, the company has become synonymous with history, design, and quality. Innovative woodworking techniques and high-quality raw materials quickly made Thonet furniture highly popular and sought-after. Over the years, it has changed name and management several times, but what hasn't changed in 160 years is its artisanal approach to the craft. Today, Ton combines traditional and modern techniques, aiming to create timeless, eco-friendly furniture that will last for generations. From the solid wood Merano chairs to the innovative Split collection, crafted from wood bent in opposite directions by hand, Ton creates a seamless transition between innovations and past successes. The story of your Ton chair begins months before you sit in it: each product is the result of the work of at least twenty pairs of hands. That is, the hands of artisans who for six generations have enhanced hand-bent wood with new shapes, creating a timeless product, equally endowed with strength and beauty.
