The Steelwood Chair by Magis is a reaction to the now widespread and consolidated use of plastic in seating. From this premise, the French design duo Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec sought to design something new in the seating landscape. The Steelwood Chair is composed of two different materials: beech and steel. Beech wood is used for the seat and legs, while steel is used for the backrest and armrests.
Magis is a historic Italian company founded in 1976 by Eugenio Perazza. It presents itself as a large, cutting-edge design and experimentation laboratory, capable of capturing the creativity of international and emerging designers and channeling it into trend-setting objects.
