Textile innovation.
Deeply textural, supremely functional, and delightfully tactile: the Rope Rug series is an innovative take on a familiar typology. Designer Pauline Deltour was inspired to reimagine the infinitely practical traditional Japanese tatami mat, but with rope to create a thicker, more durable fabric. Hem first produces our colorful cotton rope meter by meter, which is then expertly handwoven into rugs in four colors and three sizes. The rhythmic looping is a seductive texture when viewed from afar and a compelling design detail when experienced up close.
