Designed by Superstudio in 1970, Quaderna highlights the excesses of Pop Design, which was very popular at the time. The rigorous, geometric shapes and sharp angles of this console table contrast with the playful curves and vibrant colors that characterize the products of this period. The winds of rebellion of the late 1960s influenced avant-garde Italian design. The Quaderna table series, from which this extraordinary console table was born, perfectly embodies this movement.

The chequered pattern and layered plastic covering are reminiscent of the popular cafés and bars of the 1950s. The simple, functional design leaves aside individual expression. Quaderna represents a significant phase in design. Awarded numerous prizes, it is now on display at the Musée National d'Art Moderne in Paris.
