The Pyramid tables are characterized by their cut sheet steel construction. Originally designed by Wim Rietveld while working at Ahrend in the 1950s, it was relaunched for HAY along with Ahrend. Considered a triumph when it was first launched in the 1950s, its innovative use of sheet steel gave it a new direction in organically shaped products. Today, both as a collection and as individual pieces, it is notable for its economical use of materials, simplistic construction, and its lightness. For several generations, its design has manifested itself in functional excellence and aesthetic lightness, demonstrated in real-world settings. This variation of the Pyramid table features a slim sheet steel base with a rectangular oak top to create a functional and uncluttered expression. Its lightweight quality, clean aesthetic, and durability make it ideal for use as a conference or dining table. Available in a variety of wood finishes and base colors.
