The chair was inspired by the simplicity and artistry of traditional Japanese woodworking. The designer chose to hide the chair's joints, giving Oaki a refined, unique, and weightless character that appears seamless in appearance. Each leg rises from the floor across the full height of the chair, cradling the backrest between all four. The rear legs angle back from the seat, meeting the floor behind the chair rather than beneath it. The positioning of the legs brings the chair to life as they appear to step back. Crafted from solid oak and finished in light oiled oak, smoked oak, or a deep black gloss, Oaki is richly detailed and bursting with character. The lounge chair is crafted with maximum comfort in mind, encouraging those who sit back and relax. A choice of padded leather seat and backrest lends the chair a layer of soft textures that complement the smooth oak.
