Birds and Clouds swing from a thread, playing with the air and light, telling ever-changing stories.
These hanging sculptures by Benedetta Mori Ubaldini were presented by Magis at the 2012 Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan.
Part of the Magis Me Too Collection dedicated to children, these elegant wire mesh models recreate the shapes of Birds and Clouds.
While this metal mesh structure would normally be hidden within the sculpture, designer Ubaldini wanted to interpret the aesthetics of this raw structure in a white coating as the finishing product.
The starting point was the desire and vision of filling large spaces with a personal symbolic and poetic story. .
"Clouds and Birds are the result of this vision: metal mesh sculptures without an internal structure, where the interplay between presence and absence becomes the poetic element of the work.
The metal mesh, which is usually a hidden material used only as an internal frame for sculptures, finds its beauty in these objects and is transformed into figures and objects that are part of a poetic world."
Magis transforms these handmade sculptures into extraordinary objects produced for its Me Too Collection.
