Icelandic designer Gudmundur Ludvik makes his debut for HAY with the Backflip Chair – a folding chair with a refined mechanism hidden in the backrest, allowing it to fold and unfold in a single, fluid motion. Easily stored, hung, or used as needed, it moves between settings –from homes to public and commercial environments– without ever looking like a secondary seat. Crafted from solid wood with a molded plywood backrest, Backflip is available in natural beech and a range of colorful water-lacquered finishes. A matching wall bracket, available in black or natural wood finish, offers a clean storage solution that holds one or two folded chairs securely on any wall.
