The Pyramid Benches were created to be adaptable, lightweight and durable. Wim Rietveld originally created it while working at Ahrend in the 1950s, the collection was relaunched by HAY together with Ahrend.
It was considered a triumph in its innovative use of sheet steel, when it was initially launched in the 1950s, giving a new direction for use in organic form products. Today, both as a collection and as single pieces, it is remarkable for its thrifty use of materials, light enough to move and its simplistic construction. Its functional excellence and aesthetic lightness has proven itself in real environments for several generations. The pyramid bench has a thin sheet steel base with a rectangular oak top, which shares the same functional and orderly expression as the rest of the Pyramid collection. Its lightweight, stackable design and durable quality make it suitable for use in educational institutions and corporate environments. Available in various wood finishes and basic colors.
