David Geckeler on the Nerd Chair: “Through an innovative integration of seat and backrest and precise details, Nerd has a strong personality and a very iconic character. While Nerd's appearance is unique, the overall expression, the material, and the craftsmanship all have references to classic Scandinavian design values. I am very pleased with the result; a chair that stands out as a very personal and distinctive interpretation of an all-wood chair.” David Geckeler studied industrial design in Berlin and Copenhagen. He currently focuses on furniture, interior design, tableware, and lighting. The Nerd chair won the Beckers International Design Award 2011 and the Muuto Talent Award 2012. David Geckeler's work is influenced by a careful and analytical vision of the environment. Attention to the object's end user is central to every design phase. The object's durability is more important than aesthetics, and constitutes its appeal.
