The Milan-Brussels architecture studio Piovenefabi paid homage to the Milanese subway in 2017 with a much-discussed exhibition at the Chicago Architecture Biennial. Its centerpiece was a floor lamp that reproduced the subway’s iconic handrail. With Metro Lamps, valerie_objects transforms the gallery piece into a full lighting collection with playful variations. The floor lamp, originally designed in the iconic red, is now also available in three other colors that evoke the Milanese subway. Piovenefabi also deconstructed the original lamp into its basic forms and reassembled them into three playful table lamps and a pendant lamp.
